How do I join an event?
To join an event, browse through the list of upcoming events on our app and find one that catches your eye. To express your interest, simply slide right on the event to call dibs, or click on the event to view more details and then click the thumbs up icon. This action signals your interest to the host, who will then have the opportunity to accept it. Once your interest is accepted by the host, you will receive further details about the event.
How can I chat with other attendees?
You can initiate a chat with the host of an event by clicking on the chat icon displayed after selecting an event. This will open a chat session directly with the host. Additionally, you can chat with other users from their profile page; however, you must first select an event that you're both interested in to begin the chat session.
Can I create my own event?
Yes, you can create your own event by navigating to the menu from the menu button located on the top left of the homepage and then click on "New Event" button. Fill in the details such as event title, description, date, and location and few other information. Your event will then be available for other users to view and join.
Is there a fee to use the app or join events?
The app is free to download and use. However, some events may require a fee, or the host may choose to accept interests exclusively from paid members. Any applicable fees will be clearly specified on the event's detail page. Payments for such events can either be made directly through the app or to the host, depending on the event setup.
How do I manage my privacy and data?
Your privacy is our top priority. You can manage your personal settings and data privacy directly from your account settings page. For more detailed information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
What should I do if I encounter inappropriate behavior?
We are committed to maintaining a respectful and safe environment. If you encounter any inappropriate behavior or content, please report it immediately using the "Report" feature in the app or contact us directly through the support channel.
Can I cancel my participation in an event?
Yes, you can cancel your participation at any time before the event starts. Navigate to the event in your profile and select "Cancel Participation." Please note that any fees paid for paid events may be subject to the event's cancellation policy.
How are events curated on Dibs?
Events on Dibs can be created by any user or by our team of event specialists. All events are reviewed to ensure they meet our community standards and provide meaningful experiences for our users.
How do I update my profile information?
You can update your profile information by going to your profile page in the app. From there, you can edit various details such as your name, profile picture, interests, and contact information.
How can I receive updates about upcoming events?
Make sure that notifications are enabled in both your app and account settings. If you've chosen to receive notifications via email, please confirm your email address through your account settings. We will keep you updated on new events, any changes to events you're participating in, and notify you about new events in the categories you've selected in your profile preferences.
How can I ensure my safety when meeting the host?
To ensure your safety when meeting a host or attending an event, we recommend the following precautions:
- Meet in public, well-lit areas where other people are present.
- Inform a friend or family member of your plans, including the time, location, and who you'll be meeting.
- Use your own transportation to and from the event.
- Trust your instincts—if something feels off, do not hesitate to leave.
- Ensure that your mobile device is charged and with you during the meeting.

How can I find out if the host has accepted or declined my interest in an event?
You will be notified through the app when the host responds to your interest in an event. If your interest is accepted, you will receive a notification with further details about the event. If it is declined, you will also be notified. Make sure that your app notifications are enabled to receive these updates promptly. Additionally, you can manually check the status of your interest by navigating to Menu > My Activities > My Interests, and selecting the event in question.
